When we decide what we wear are we just making a strategic move in the game that is life. I was currently reading an article about fashion and feminism in which it referred to fashion as a game. It really got me thinking about why we wear what we wear (and what prompted me to start writing a fashion blog). It makes sense, we do spend most of our life playing games either with relationships or climbing the ladder in our careers, so why not make fashion into a game.
If fashion is a game, it seems it is very obvious who the winners and losers of this game are. A lot of the time, we dress either to get noticed by the opposite sex, to get a reaction out of people, or even to blend in. I openly admit that when I plan to go out to the bars I dress more flashy or provocatively then I would on a normal day to day basis. And of coarse there are those who are so bored with the game that they truly don't care how they are playing the game.
So then, what designs do we wear to ultimately win the game? And how to the designers design clothing that would lead people to be the winners? In a society where fashion is constantly changing, we have to be on our "A Game" to stay one step ahead of the trends. Maybe the trendsetters then are the ultimate game winners........
